I was a visual designer on Xbox Project Scorpio at Microsoft.

Before Xbox One X was announced, teams around Microsoft were aligning on what Fluent Design would be. For us, this new generation of Xbox was the most powerful console to date. How Fluent Design and the sheer power of the Xbox's hardware manifested itself in the visual design of the UI was our task to discover. We started out bold, pushing the envelope of what a console UI could do on a graphically.

Our UI revolved around bringing back 3-dimensionality, using beaming light to covey power and draw the eye, and adding breathability with negative space.
